We’ve encountered countless ground-breaking rides over the years, but few have left us as impressed as this one.  A UK-built 1969 Camaro Pro Touring masterpiece—but here’s the twist: it’s owned by a lady.

A Stunning Pro Touring Transformation Owned by a True Muscle Car Enthusiast

When we finally arrived, we were greeted by a sea of immaculate vintage hot rods and muscle cars, as per usual, we might add.

Finding the Camaro among hundreds of vehicles seemed like a daunting task. But it didn’t take long—thanks to a swarm of enthusiasts with cameras encircling a single car. Fighting through the three-man-deep crowd, there it was, commanding attention with its stance and undeniable presence. It was just unmissable!

It all started on an early Sunday morning. With a road trip to one of the UK’s finest hot rod and muscle car events—the Super Rod Nationals—on the cards, we grabbed our home brewed coffee and hit the road.

About an hour into the journey, we spotted something in the distance—a sight so rare in the UK, we thought we were hallucinating. A full-blown Camaro Pro Touring beast cruising along the Queen’s highway!  Was the caffeine playing tricks on us? We had to check it out!

Determined to catch a closer look, we floored the pedal and pursued the stunning machine, silently hoping it was heading to the event.

The story of this Camaro began with a simple idea. Tina and Clint spent years searching for a suitable ’69 Camaro, and their patience paid off when a local dealership specialising in US cars sourced a solid runner. While Tina initially wanted to keep it simple, Clint had other ideas.

Through Clint’s friendship with John at  Webster’s Race Engineering—a major player in the UK drag racing world—the Camaro underwent a transformation far beyond Tina’s original vision.

Upon seeing the car stripped down to its bare chassis, Tina was understandably shocked. Rust issues meant that 95% of the original parts needed replacing, with only the roof and rear upper quarter panels remaining intact. John sourced parts from Classic Industries in California, a go-to supplier for Camaro restoration projects.

This Camaro is a testament to expert craftsmanship. With its rust issues addressed, the car was rebuilt from the ground up. A custom chassis was fabricated, and the floor pan removed to achieve the signature Pro Touring stance.

Every aspect of the car was modified to perfection. From a GM Performance 572 cubic-inch big-block engine to bespoke interior upholstery, this Camaro epitomises dedication to detail.

Our first interaction was with a friendly chap named Clint Wood. Complimenting the Camaro, we assumed it was his pride and joy. “No mate, this ain’t mine—it’s my wife’s,” Clint responded with a grin.

Yes, this jaw-dropping Camaro belongs to Tina Wood, a dedicated muscle car enthusiast and Clint’s better half (as per his words). Tina’s passion for American cars rivals Clint’s, making them the perfect power couple in the custom car scene.
