Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

In the early 1990s, Rick Dore emerged as a prominent figure in the custom car scene, earning acclaim for his unique designs and unwavering attention to detail. His creations have garnered numerous awards and have been featured in international publications, solidifying his reputation as a master craftsman. The "Golden Era," a 1926 Ford Roadster, stands as a testament to Dore's ability to blend classic inspiration with modern innovation.

A Fusion of Classic Design and Modern Engineering

The exterior boasts a striking translucent Melon pearl finish, complemented by a pearl white interior and black carpeting. Wide whitewall tires mounted on Radir wheels, along with Maltese cross accents and exposed headers, evoke the early 1960s hot rod vibe.
Built on an extended and boxed Model T frame with a 106-inch wheelbase, the "Golden Era" showcases a hand-formed steel body that retains the original door placements, though they remain non-functional to preserve the car's sleek lines. This design choice enhances structural integrity and maintains the vehicle's aesthetic appeal.
The interior of the "Golden Era" reflects Dore's commitment to quality and design. The pearl white upholstery offers a striking contrast to the exterior, while black carpets add depth to the cabin. The Du Vall style split windshield and sculpted dashboard contribute to the car's classic yet contemporary aesthetic, creating an inviting environment for both driver and passenger.
Upon its completion, the "Golden Era" was featured in Street Rodder magazine in August 2006, highlighting its significance in the custom car community. It was subsequently acquired by notable collectors, including John O’Quinn and later the Sam Pack Collection, underscoring its desirability and status as a collector's item.
