Meguiar’s Ford Interceptor Project

Meguiar's UK team has made a big splash with their first official demo vehicle—a stunningly slammed Ford Crown Victoria Interceptor. With a long-standing history of promoting car culture across the UK, the Meguiar’s crew wanted a vehicle that would both embody American muscle and stand out at any car meet.
And so, with team members Tom and Dale leading the charge, they went all-in on finding the perfect car: a retired American police vehicle transformed into a low-riding British beast.

Bringing American muscle to British roads, Meguiar’s UK gives new life to a retired Ford Interceptor, turning heads everywhere.

After a painstaking search, Tom and Dale finally stumbled upon the right car in an unexpected find: an old police car showroom in Essex, home to everything from classic bikes to ex-patrol cars.
Though originally drawn to a blue Crown Vic, it was the black pursuit car in the corner that caught their attention—and the Meguiar’s Interceptor project was born.
Tom shares the story behind the search for the Crown Vic: “We wanted to create something fun and accessible, but true to our American roots. Mustangs and Chevys crossed our minds, but this pursuit car just felt right.”
With a clean slate established, the team took the car to EMP Performance for a custom straight-through exhaust system, delivering an intense growl and turning heads wherever they go. Meanwhile, Phil and the team at The Install Company installed an AirLift air suspension system, cutting and adapting custom bags and struts to achieve the slammed look. Not only does the Crown Vic sit low, but it does so with style.
Phil even fitted a CB radio housing and audio setup featuring a Kenwood 12-inch subwoofer and seamless carbon air tanks, bringing a touch of audio luxury to the project.
Since its debut, the Meguiar's Interceptor has travelled across the UK and Europe, stealing the spotlight at shows, meets, and road trips.
This project reminds us that sometimes, all it takes is the right vehicle and a bit of imagination to create a standout piece. From start to finish, Meguiar’s has made sure this demo car is more than just a showpiece—it’s a symbol of their passion for the car community and their drive to bring fresh creativity to the British car scene.
With an impressive event line-up each year, Meguiar’s UK team is no stranger to creating standout show experiences.
Typically supporting a wide range of UK events—from the finest concours displays to stance-driven meets—Meguiar's presence spans over 50 events in a single show season; just thinking about that is fatiguing to some!
In 2016, they raised the stakes to a new high, taking on the challenge of building a dedicated demo car to reflect the brand's spirit across different car scenes.  The choice?
A 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Patrol Car, once a fully operational Police Interceptor in the States, and now primed to serve as a distinctive “Polish Interceptor” on British roads, embodying Meguiar's dedication to quality, individuality, and innovation in the UK car scene.

Meguiar's Ford Crown Victoria Patrol Car:

  • Model: 2008 Ford Crown Victoria Interceptor

  • Colour: Black (original paint)

  • Customisation: Full AirLift air ride suspension, custom bags and struts, by The Install Company

  • Exhaust: Straight-through system by EMP Performance

  • Detailing: Original paint restored and polished to showroom quality

  • Pinstriping: Hand-painted details by Simon from Nefarious

  • Audio Set-Up: Kenwood 12-inch subwoofer, seamless carbon tanks, custom CB radio housing

  • Special Features: Balanced police propshaft, Ford Motorsport hoses, reinforced sump, nudge bar installed for a classic police look

The build stayed true to Meguiar’s style, maintaining subtlety while showcasing incredible craftsmanship. “We wanted the car to represent Meguiar’s without having the branding all over it. The name ‘To Protect & Shine’ captured that essence,” Tom says.
The Crown Vic, an icon of American police cars, has its original paint—a fact that continues to surprise admirers, who often assume it’s a full repaint job. Hours of meticulous work in the detailing bay brought out the paint’s original shine, and the finishing touches were added by the skilled pinstriping artist, Simon from Nefarious, whose designs bring refined character to the car’s dark profile.

Full Throttle-Live from the Interceptor

On the day I was lucky for Tom to have the time to take me for a spin in the Interceptor. Of course I just had to put on the camera for you all to get a feel for this beast too. Enjoy!
